50 Years of Test Preparation

The School for Student Advancement provides the finest preparation available in New York for both the PSAT and the SAT.  The school offers students an excellent program taught by a staff of certified High School Math and English teachers highly experienced in SAT preparation.  Our reading specialists are well qualified to teach students how to write an essay in accordance with the SAT scoring guide.  Students will learn how to compose a well organized essay that develops a personal point of view supported by appropriate examples and skillful language techniques.

Recent SAT Modifications

Math Section
  • Quantitative comparison problems are eliminated
  • Advanced Alegebra problems have been added
Verbal Section (now called Critical Reading)
  • Analogy questions are eliminated
  • Shorter reading passages have been added
Writing Section (new)
  • Grammar and writing skills tested (using multiple choice questions)
  • Student-written essays are included in the new SAT

Outstanding Results

Our students show a significant increase in their combined scores over the initial diagnostic test. If you are not satisfied with your increased score, additional classes are available during our next scheduled course, free of charge.
